This book is a fine addition to my collection of equine books. Just paging through it, motivates me to draw! Thank you, Mr. Langrish.
This book was exactly what I expected-a book full of beautiful horse photography. I only had two minor quibbles with the book--the first is that the text that accompanied the photos was rather banal, and sometimes even silly. The second was that the photos all felt as if they were taken from a similar distance away from the animals, and this sameness began to make me less impressed with each individual photo as I saw it. I think if there had been a bit more variety--some extreme closeups juxtaposed with mid-distance and long-distance shots, I might have appreciated each and every beautiful image just a little bit more.But, if you like horses, I think you absolutely will enjoy looking at the pictures in this book.I received an advanced reading copy from the publishers via NetGalley. This master artist with a camera captured these magnificent creatures in their natural habitats and the results are stunning! Includes spirited text by Olympic gold medalist Jane Holderness-Roddam, who shares the backstory of Langrish’s adventures, as well as details on how horse behaviors and traits vary by habitat. What an absolutely striking collection of photographs. The subtitle for this book is very accurately named; Bob Langrish set out to photograph the most magnificent horses in the world, and he certainly succeeded. These photographs are absolutely beautiful – words cannot do them justice. I honestly would have been happy having this book simply be a collection of these wonderful photographs. However, they took things a few steps farther. For one thing all the photographs are nicely organized into neat categories. This helped the flow and kept themes going throughout, so it was a nice tough. Additionally each horse was accompanied by a map showing the location of where they can be found. This was not something I expected to find here, but it was very much appreciated. It really goes to show that sometimes going above and beyond really can enhance the showing of a collection. I honestly believe that any fans of horses or of Bob Langrish’s work would really appreciate reading this. The photos are beautiful, the maps and details informative. This would make for a really nice gift as well – especially for the young horse enthusiast in your life (we all know somebody like that).

This is a really nice book, very informative in many ways but mostly superb photography of amazing horses in amazing places, running free.Anyone that is interested in photography, which includes animals, will gain some education on how to get an animal to pose for that perfect natural photo. Likewise anyone interested in horses will experience some fabulous eye candy from the photos. There are lots of tidbits on information about the different breeds and location, some of which was new to e and extremely interestingBeautiful book
Beautiful photography that you can get in lost in and dream. Horses in all sizes and in different areas of life. They run with such grace and beauty. The narration carries you all over world as the author finds the herds in their natural habitat and their place in our world. God's majestic creatures. A book you will pick up time and time again. The photographer has a way of capturing them at their best.
I really enjoyed looking at this book. The real stars are the horses. The photographer travels around the world photographing horses and does a wonderful job of capturing their spirit. The text is very light and not as interesting as the photographs. Any fan of Horses and photography will enjoy this book. This book will make a wonderful gift.
