This book is excellent reading for anyone looking for inspiration to become their "best selves." Mr Kelly writes many publications focused on Catholisism. However, his words will move you, inspire you, and help you, regardless of your spiritual beliefs. Mr. Kelly is an excellent spiritual advisor for all of us. Thank you.
I happened upon this book as the companion to a daily email I am receiving during this period of lent. What I loved about it (and I am about to re read it) is that its not about religion or being a Catholic (which I am) it is about being the best version of yourself while accepting your human shortcomings and failings, it is about taking a hard look at yourself and striving everyday to be that better version that God wants you to be but also using your failures (which are part of the human condition) as learning experiences to bring you closer to God and to help you to evolve and this will in turn help you to help others to evolve and become the best versions of themselves...really a refreshing surprise I couldn’t wait for the next daily passage as indicated in the email in the end I just went ahead and finished the book before the daily emails came in.
I really enjoy Matthew Kelley both as a speaker and an author. He has a lot to say, some of it, not so new, but it bears being said again and again. This book is about becoming the best version of yourself as God created you. The book is well organized into life segments including parenting, employment, personal values and truths and so on. It's an inspirationally charged book with some very practical advice on how to achieve the best version of yourself. I recommend this and many other of Matthew's books to you. His organization, known as Dynamic Catholic, is chock full of spiritual direction, guidance and personal advice.
A wonderful book for believers and non believers alike. Very practical wisdom about what makes for a good life, with a real focus on finding yourself and what your mission in life is. Matthew Kelly makes it clear that he has struggled like the rest of us, is still learning, but has found himself after a lifetime of exploration. A must read book.
I bought the kindle book to go along with Best Lent Ever. Having read it, I’m going to buy a physical copy as well. There is so much here in these pages that I can barely describe. It’s a great book to read if you want to figure out what the “best version of yourself†really means. It gives you a practical way to focus each day. I didn’t realize how much I needed to read this book, but I know that I’m already ready to go through reading it again with flags, a highlighter, and a pencil for the margins.
I came upon this book during Lent, I was very busy and my life seemed out of order. "Perfectly Yourself helped me to see clearly what I needed. Order and personal quite time. I am there now. I know that things happen to interrupt order but I know how to get back to that place.Thank you Matthew Kelly I have read several of your books but this one changed my life.I recommend this to everyone. Do not agree with "global warming" but it's a great book will read it again.
