I've been learning from Bryan for more than 10 years. The more I've taken to heart the entirety of his stories the more my appreciation for the sport has grown. This book does a great job of presenting those stories in an manner that's so easy to read and relate to. It gave me a lot of inspiration both for my golf game and for my daily life.While I love many of the stories and messages within the book, there were a few that really stood out to me. In terms of my golf game, the analogy of my golf swing to a library hit home. Just as he wrote, I too realized that I had spent too much time refining the exterior to my library with grand design (i.e. the look of my swing) but didn't recognize that doesn't do a lot of good if there isn't any substance and variety within it (i.e. quality and variety of the many shots required). Beyond my golf game, the comments he made about his best lesson in how to teach while letting your students learn and own their learning was a complete ah-ha moment for me. This went up on my wall at work and I think that every individual, whether a teacher, manager, leader, or influencer should take this to heart.Overall I have really enjoyed this book and the philosophy that Bryan teaches. It has had incredible impact on me and one I can't wait to share!
I've taken golf lessons, practiced for hundreds of hours and bought expensive clubs but by far the best thing I've ever done to improve my enjoyment of the game is change my ATTITUDE. Since reading Bryan's first book, I have definitely had more fun golfing and don't let the bad shots get to me anymore.I worked with a handful of pros before attending one of Bryan's glo ball night tournaments and have been a fan ever since. Yes he has helped my swing but more importantly helped my brain... Oh, and he's a fun and nice guy, too.KevinP.S. My scores have dropped as well. That makes me happy, too.
