Taking web design courses and my instructor recommended this book. Even though HTML5 and CSS3 will be coming out this year, this book is a very good reference for coding web pages. It's quite hefty and detailed and I would think it would make a good course book to go along with a web page design class.
This is just what I was looking for. It is easy to follow and has great explanations. I'm halfway through it and still haven't stumbled onto any difficulties.
Very helpful. Well written.
There are some typo errors but it is still worth reading. You will be able to make out the errors, just correct it with a pencil.

I found this to be a well written and comprehensive intro to HTML and CSS. I went though the entire book in about 6 days so it was a relatively easy read. The examples are kept simple, so that you can work your way through them. If you are thinking about going into web design or development then you will probably need some advanced books to supplement this one. However if you are just looking to get a quick overview of HTML and CSS or maybe even just a refresher course on the core concepts this might be the only book that you will need.
